Master Bedroom Suite with Island Bed | Surrey
Three disconnected rooms were reconfigured to create a unified master suite, a bespoke bedroom, integrated dressing area and ensuite bathroom designed entirely around the clients' lifestyle and the natural light and garden outlook the space had to offer.
Designed Around the View
Rather than placing the bed against a wall in a conventional arrangement, it was designed as an island element positioned to capture uninterrupted views towards the garden. This immediately changed how the space is experienced — creating a greater sense of openness and allowing the surrounding landscape to become part of the atmosphere of the room.
Storage That Disappears Into the Architecture
The bedhead was developed as an integrated architectural feature incorporating a dressing area and concealed storage within it. Made-to-measure wardrobes run along one wall in a restrained and consistent rhythm, allowing substantial storage capacity without overwhelming the visual calm of the suite.
The palette throughout was kept intentionally quiet, allowing proportion, materiality and light to shape the atmosphere rather than decorative elements alone.
Warmth & Craft in the Material Choices
Washed tulipwood was selected for the bespoke cabinetry and fitted furniture throughout. Its subtle grain and softly reflective surface respond well to natural light, bringing warmth and texture into the room while maintaining the restrained architectural quality of the design.
The ensuite bathroom continues the same language through integrated cabinetry, a freestanding bath and a generous walk-in shower — calm, cohesive and carefully resolved throughout.
