Founded by principal designer Giles Slater in 1991, and jointly managed for the past 20 years with his Swedish-born wife, Karin, both bring a complementary wealth of creative wisdom and experience to the business.
Our name, Figura, is Latin for shape and form -the two constants that anchor every design we produce.
Home means everything to us and we pride ourselves on creating well thought out, individual spaces for our clients, that enhance their sense of well-being and happiness, whilst preserving the provenance of a property and reimagining it for the future.

Founded in 1991, Figura has over four decades of experience designing and handcrafting bespoke kitchens and interiors across Surrey, Sussex and London. Much of our work takes place within period and listed properties, where proportion, architectural sensitivity and careful judgement are essential. We are equally confident working within contemporary homes and architect-designed new builds.
All of our cabinetry is individually designed and made using traditional in-frame construction and time-proven joinery techniques. Design, manufacture and installation remain closely aligned, ensuring continuity from first conversation through to completion.
Clients work directly with us throughout, with a single point of contact and a clear, open-book approach. For those who require it, we offer a fully managed turnkey service, coordinating trusted builders and specialist trades with whom we have long-standing relationships.
From our showroom in Chiddingfold, Surrey, we continue to work locally, allowing us to maintain close oversight and build enduring relationships with the homes and families we work with.
