Master Bedroom & Ensuite Bathroom | Surrey
This master suite began with a complete reset — replastering walls, refining proportions and introducing new coving to establish a quieter architectural framework throughout. From that foundation, a calm and carefully resolved bedroom and ensuite bathroom were designed around the clients' daily life and material preferences.
Balance & Symmetry as a Starting Point
The design centres on an island bed positioned deliberately to create flow and balance from every angle. Circulation moves naturally around it, reinforcing the openness and calm of the suite. Central breakthrough doors aligned with the bed establish a clear axis through to the ensuite beyond, creating a sense of symmetry and architectural order throughout.
A Sculptural Centrepiece
At the centre of the bedroom, a Maron marble surface forms part of a sculptural island element with concealed storage below. Inset beaded lighting was integrated carefully into the detailing, highlighting the movement and depth within the stone while maintaining a soft ambient quality throughout the room.
Washed ash was selected for the bespoke cabinetry and fitted furniture — consistent in grain, understated in character, and warm in the way it responds to light.
Continuity Into the Ensuite
The same Maron marble and washed ash finishes continue into the ensuite bathroom, reinforcing a sense of connection between the two spaces. Bespoke vanity cabinetry, custom mirror frames and integrated alcove lighting were all designed specifically for the project — ensuring the bathroom feels fully part of the architectural language established in the bedroom rather than simply an adjoining room.
The result is a master suite that feels calm, balanced and quietly luxurious — designed around daily life, proportion and long-term craft.
