Handcrafted Kitchen for Surrey
Village House
Nestled within a picturesque woodland garden, this bespoke kitchen was designed to create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. What were once three separate rooms have been thoughtfully reconfigured into a single flowing space, now anchored by an oak-beam orangery that draws in soft, natural light throughout the day. The result is a calm, uplifting environment that celebrates its setting while offering a warm and practical heart to the home.
At the centre of the kitchen, painted furniture sits in quiet harmony with a handcrafted oak island and breakfast bar, offering a balanced interplay of colour, material and texture. Piracema stone surfaces bring depth and movement, their natural veining complementing the woodland surroundings and enhancing the kitchen’s gentle, organic aesthetic.
Curved work surfaces guide the eye through the space, softening transitions and creating a sense of fluidity that echoes the landscape beyond the glazing. Secret-fix shelving offers a clean, architectural line, adding discreet functionality without disrupting the room’s simplicity. Along one wall, a long run of bespoke oak furniture accommodates a bar, serving area and generous storage, supporting family life and entertaining with ease.
Thoughtful details elevate the space further. A substantial canopy sits above the Aga, carefully designed to house powerful extraction while maintaining the proportions of the room. Beneath a movable chopping board, a hidden hob provides additional cooking flexibility without interrupting the calm, considered feel of the kitchen.
Blending craftsmanship, natural materials and refined spatial planning, this woodland-garden kitchen embodies the essence of indoor–outdoor living. It is a space that feels both rooted in its surroundings and tailored to the rhythm of modern family life—harmonious, functional and beautifully personal.
