The difference is in the detail

A Figura project is all about getting the detail right. In old houses with quirky walls and uneven floors you need people who understand their craft, their materials and can work closely with the design team to ensure every detail is perfectly executed once they’re on site in a client’s home. To ensure we deliver that every time we only work with skilled craftsmen and women whose standards are as high as our own. It’s precisely this high standard of craftsmanship and stunning natural materials that are at the heart of all our designs and are part of what makes our work elegant, timeless, sustainable and individual.

The team delivering Figura levels of detail

Our in-house installation team has been learning their craft for over 25 years. They have worked in all sorts of environments – from installing luxurious, individual kitchens and fitting out opulent shops through to building sets for the Olympics opening ceremony, the Royal Opera House, London theatres, fashion shows and runways. It’s not just their practical skills that make them such superior craftsmen but also their creative skills and their ability to problem solve. We’ve yet to find a wonky wall or a period house quirk that can defeat them!

Alongside our own installation team is a wider group of craftspeople we’ve worked with for close to 30 years and who we bring in on projects as and when required. We know exactly who does the best work, which craftsperson is right for a particular job and whose skill-levels and standards are as high as our own and a match for those of the rest of our team

We also feel very strongly that it’s so important to keep investing in traditional skills. Programmes like the Repair Shop and Britain’s Best Woodworker are great at showcasing the incredible skills people have – but the practical application of these skills on real-life projects is vital. That’s what provides the support and respect for the crafts we need to survive and ensure we’re able to finally break away from a throwaway culture and instead invest in items that are built to last.

Cabinetry not joinery

With great cabinetry and a timeless design there’s no reason why your kitchen shouldn’t last well over 50 years. You expect antique furniture to last that long – so why shouldn’t you expect the same of your kitchen furniture? Delivering that starts with the highest quality materials in the hands of expert cabinet makers and it’s why we describe our furniture as cabinetry not joinery.

Getting the right stone for your kitchen

You can only create stunning worksurfaces if you source great stone. You need to know where you are buying it from (and we are exceptionally careful about where we buy it from) and you need to be confident in the quality of the fabricators. There are many, many stone fabricators out there but only a few of them can be described as excellent – we’ve been using the same fabricator for many years because they meet this standard.

Perfecting every detail – from the lighting to the floor

Our team has the design vision and skill to focus on every detail. If a bespoke light fitting is required, we can design and commission it. If we suggest backsplashes in glass – be that vibrant colour or colourless to blend perfectly – we can create them. Or if we propose unique metal handles, period details or other fittings, we have the craftspeople to hand-forge them for you in iron or copper as well as other finishes.

When it comes to flooring we guide you in selecting the styles, materials and laying design that will be simultaneously sympathetic to the construction of your property, hard wearing, timeless and beautiful.
