Based in Chiddingfold, Surrey we are really lucky to have a number of National Trust properties and gardens right on our doorstep. One of the most magnificent at this time of year is Winkworth Arboretum, an unfinished masterpiece.
Established in the 20th century, this hillside arboretum has now been maintained by the National Trust for 60 years and has built up a collection of more than 1,000 different shrubs and trees, many of them rare.
Visit any time of year for a delightful stroll through the personal plant collection of one man, who was passionate about shrubs and trees. The Collection and setting are too unique to ever disappoint.
The winding, steep steps down to the boat house boast a breathtaking and impressive display of Azaleas.
These bold injections of bright, cheerful colour gets us thinking about how we can accessorise our homes and interiors and bring a splash of invigorating colour to neutral schemes.
Why not take a visit for yourself in the next week and get inspired.....you need to hurry to catch them at their best. In the recent warmer weather it is the ideal place for a family days out and picnic, especially as dogs are welcome.
