London Design Week 2016

London Design Week 2016

Fantastic timing that London Design Week 2016 at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour coincides with the launch of Figura Interior Design.

We have attended in previous years, but this year we were especially interested in companies that our clients will look forward to hearing about and who place the same value on beautiful, timeless and quality interior design and decoration that we do.

There is absolutely no better place to gather inspiration, view current trends and technology and see the experts in action.

Fabrics, tiling, floor coverings, architectural hardware, lighting, paint colours, wallpapers, furniture, accessories, trimmings, bathrooms, we have certainly seen it all today and have come away eager to share this expertise with our clients on their new projects.

The explosion of colour and texture was remarkable, this alongside the very best craftspeople, artisans and designers, who have been selected to reside here for their impeccable design credentials.  There is an overwhelming sense of passion for quality, luxury and exquisite interiors and finishes.

We were treated to a fabulous working lunch courtesy of Christopher Guy, who's Mademoiselle Collection is inspired by Coco Channel, drawing on her elegance, timeless style and beauty.

Beneath the three iconic domes within the Design Centre there are four floors. The dazzling space is vast and provides the ideal environment for 116 showrooms and over 600 international interior brands. It is the largest of its kind in Europe and well-established as a leading design destination.

Karin found a sanctuary for her soul in Lewis & Wood, where the colours, textures and designs of the fabrics really struck a chord.  We were lucky enough to chat to Stephen Lewis who co-founded the company in 1993, who was happy to share his passion for the business and for design.  Lewis & Wood's collection of textiles and wallpapers are largely manufactured in Britain and the success of the company lies in its determination to be different. We very much hope to be able to work with them in the future.

After such an inspiring and enjoyable day, only an hour away from the bustle and bright lights of Chelsea, we return to our leafy Surrey showroom for a well deserved debrief and cup of tea!
